2019 - 2020 Jacket regiment information

Welcome to the 2019-2020 Edition of The Jacket Regiment!  Please read all information carefully and mark your calendars with all of the important dates included in this information packet.  Any questions may be directed to Chuck Deen at cdeen@acpsd.net and  I look forward to your participation in this great youth activity that continues to represent our community, school, and state at the highest level possible!
 
Summer Mini-Camps
 
All Jacket Regiment wind and guard members are expected to attend the following mini-camps.  If you are going to be out of town, contact Chuck Deen at cdeen@acpsd.net
 
Jacket Regiment members will need their instruments at these rehearsals.  Members will need to wear tennis shoes, socks, shorts and white t-shirt.  Marching fundamentals and music preparation will be made for the camp.  Again, all members are required to be at these rehearsals, unless you have notified Chuck Deen due to vacation.
 
Mini-Camp Dates
 
June 25th, July 9th, July 16th, and July 23rd
Report to the NAHS gym and mini-camps run from 6 pm till 9 pm.  Please be on early, on time is late.
 
Color Guard members will be contacted shortly as to sectional days that you may come for technique/dance training in addition to the Mini-Camp Dates.
 
Band Camp Dates
July 24th through July 26th 8:00am – 1:00pm Percussion Only
July 29th through August 1st 8:00am – 6:00pm See August 2nd below. Everyone
August 5th through August 8th 8:00am – 6:00pm See August 9th below. Everyone
**Lunch will be provided for members July 29h – August 1st. Members will be required to bring their own lunch August 5th – August 8th.
***Members will be dismissed at 12:00pm (NOON) on Friday, August 2nd and Friday, August 9th.
 
2019 Jacket Regiment Fee:
Jacket Regiment Fees for 2019 – 2020 will be $275.00. All parents, including percussion parents make plans to attend a very important NA Band Booster Meeting on June 25thh at 6:30 pm in the NAHS Cafeteria.
 
8th grade marchers Jacket Regiment Fee for 2019 -2020 is $200.00. Make plans to attend a very important NA Band Booster Meeting on June 25h at 6:30 pm in the NAHS Cafeteria.

September  6th – Full Band:  Away against Grovetown
September 13th – Full Band:  Home against Blythewood
September 20th – Full Band to Rehearsal 3:45 till 9:00 pm
September 21st – Full Band Competition to Midland Valley High School
September 27th – Full Band: Home against Strom Thurmond
September 28th – Full Band Competition to White Knoll High School
October 4th – Full Band Rehearsal 3:45 till 6:00 pm
October 5th – Full Band Competition to Irmo High School or Grovetown HS
October 11th – Full Band: Home against Airport
October 12th – Full Band Competition to Blythewood High School
October 18th – Full Band:  Home against South Aiken
October 19th – Full Band Competition:  Lower State Championships at
October 25th – Full Band:  Away against Midland Valley
October 26th – Full Band Competition: State Marching Band Championships at Chapin High School
 
Report times for all home games is 6pm is late in the auditorium.  Away game report times will be announced that week.  Contest report times and performance times are announced as received.
 
 
How do I make payments?  You have several options to pay your Jacket Regiment fee and your trip fees.  You may send your payment to:

You or your member may deposit your payment in the black box in the band complex.  Online payment information will be given at summer meetings.

Deen's Notes

Thank you to all who volunteered this week! Parent/Guardian participation at our functions is important and needed at practices, games and competitions. Jacket Regiment had a fine performance last night with the first halftime performance. Next time around you’ll see the wind and guard uniforms and a good portion of our props for IMAGINEAIRE.
Practice this week is Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. More information coming soon. Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Practice date and NAHS Concert

Symphonic Band will practice on Thursday, December 14th till 5:30 pm.

Our Annual Christmas Concert will be held in the North Augusta High School Auditorium on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 7:00 PM.  Student report time is 6:30 PM and dress is Concert Black.  This concert features both our Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.  Both groups are fantastic!!!

2017 North Augusta Lions Christmas Parade

Join the North Augusta Jacket Regiment at the 2017 North Augusta Lions Christmas Parade on December 10, 2017. Students are to report to Security Federal Bank on the corner of Martintown Road and Knox Avenue at 2:00 PM. Members must wear their black shoes, black socks, bibbers, and any shirt under the bibbers.  Uniform jackets and Elf Hats will be there for them.

Senior Night/Region Band Auditions/Practices This Week

​If your student would like to sign up for Region Band auditions, he/she will need sign-up with Mr. Deen (see form) and turn in $10 by this Thursday, November 5th. Auditions will be held on January 9th at Brewer Middle School, and audition times will be given out the closer we get to the date. E'tudes (music), scales, and terms are all found by clicking here: http://bandlink.org/allstate/auditions/

Third period band only will have practice on Tuesday until 6:00pm.  

The entire band will have practice on Thursday from 3:45-6:00pm, and there is a home game on Friday. Report time is 6:00pm.

Senior Night is this Friday night.  Parents and Seniors need to report to the auditorium by 6:15.

Grovetown Warrior Invitational

On Saturday, October 17th , Jacket Regiment will perform in the Grovetown Warrior Invitational competiton.  We are very excited!

Report time for members is noon in the stadium with instruments.  

Members need to report to practice in shorts/pants, white t-shirt, black socks (crew) and band shoes. After rehearsal, they will change into their bibbers.  

Members need to bring a sack lunch with them.  They will be allowed to eat before departing.  


For this competition there are two performances:
Preliminary Competition and the Finals Competition.

Jacket Regiment will perform at 4:30 pm for the Preliminary Competition.  The Awards for Prelims is at 6:00 pm.


The second performance depends upon the placement in the Preliminary Competition.  Those start at 7:30, and the last one is at 10:10.  The Awards Ceremony is at 10:45.  See the schedules provided here as well as the concessions menu.   

Admission is $5 for adults and students.

The first band performs at 1:30 pm.

Parents, please look for your JR family and sit together in support of our members! This is generally on the 40 yard line left of the 50.  See you there!
